Rissa wants only to escape from her stepfather and his plans, but how when he threatens horrible retribution if she asks for help?

His threats have kept her in line and bearing her burdensome secret far too long. But when she hears the message of Christ, when she makes friends in the latest town planned for plucking, and when her heart is engaged by twins Lowell and Ollie, will Rissa find the courage to step forward in faith to reveal her secret and, finally, find true faith and love?

A sweet story that leaves the reader smiling and encouraged.

Rissa Le Blanc is thankful to be back in the affable town of Litchfield, Minnesota. She hates traveling with her stepfather from town to town, never staying anywhere long enough to even make a single friend. When two women from the dress shop reach out to her, Rissa finds herself hoping she can stay a while and get to know them. She especially likes the way Ollie Jenson smiles at her. But what would the town say if they knew what her stepfather had in mind?

Ollie Jenson doesn’t think he's ever met a woman quite like charming Rissa. He can almost hear wedding bells whenever she's near. When he discovers that his brother and best friend, Lowell, also has feelings for Rissa, it drives a wedge between them. Then Ollie sees Rissa in town and she acts shy and indifferent to him. Could it be she's falling for Lowell instead of him?

DOUBLE DECEPTION is a clever story of romance and intrigue. Readers are sure to be delighted with the unusual twist the author Lena Nelson Dooley throws their way. In DOUBLE DECEPTION, Ms. Dooley continues her historical romance series about the town of Litchfield, Minnesota and its townsfolk. It was enjoyable to read about characters I've come to know from earlier books in the series such as The Other Brother, and His Brother's Castoff.

It was interesting to read about the Jenson brothers and to see how their mutual attraction to Rissa broke apart a close relationship. They both struggled with feelings of anger, guilt, and betrayal. Readers are give a powerful faith message as Rissa begins to learn about Jesus's sacrifice for her, but it never comes across as preachy. DOUBLE DECEPTION is a heart-tugging romance that will hold your interest and have you wanting to read more about the Litchfield community.

Readers' Comments:

Lena, I just finished Double Deception. Really great. You handled a tricky subject. . .so well this book should be a text book. Plus it was just a great read, which is the main thing. Mary Connealy

Just got back from family vacation in CO, and I took Double Deception along with me. Fun reading! I liked the twins and Ollie and Lowell, but I'll admit I just loved August--he was a real keeper. : ) Fun to read about your characters in a series of books--hope it gets made into a four-book collection. I'm looking forward to Gerda's story! J.S.

You better get busy, I just read your last two books since yesterday afternoon. I thought Double Deception was by far the very best yet!!! Great job! M.V.Z.
