The first weekend in March, I spoke in Tulsa to the local ACFW chapter WIN (for Writers of Inspirational Novels). They were very gracious hosts to my husband and me. The meeting took place at the beautiful Hardesty Library.
The Fathers Heart
Lena was a speaker at the Writer’s A-D-V-A-N-C-E Retreat hosted by Janice Thompson at the Hidden Manna Retreat Center at New Waverly, Texas, in January 2006. She spoke on “The Importance of a Teachable Spirit” and “Understanding the Father’s Heart.” She also performed a dramatic monologue of Queen Esther.
I've been a speaker at women's meetings in Mexico as well as in Texas. A long, constantly-growing relationship with the Lord helps give me subjects other women want to hear.
At the Ladies’ Night Out in Haltom City, Texas, my prayer partner and I enjoyed fellowshipping with the women while the men served us a wonderful meal they prepared. After I spoke to the group, one of the women asked me how I knew so much about her. I was also privileged to meet a woman who was an avid reader of my Heartsong Presents books.

Sessions 1 and 2 are approximately an hour long, and sessions 3 and 4 are approximately half an hour.

I spoke with Carolyn, the pastor's wife, yesterday, and she told me the retreat was a huge success, that it was everything she could have hoped and prayed for. She fell in love with you. She said she adored your sweet spirit. The message you brought was perfect for this group of ladies, and she liked that you were "approachable." Often the speakers have an attitude that "I am the speaker. Do you want to touch the hem of my white robe?" But not you. We all knew the moment you greeted everyone that you were a true ambassador for God. They also felt like they could trust you and that you loved them with the love of Christ. I was so glad to hear Carolyn tell me all this, because it confirmed what I've known all along. You were the right person for the job! Everyone fell in love with you, and I've heard a couple people who have told me you made a huge impact in their lives with your honest, easy-to-understand message.

Speaking at writers' meetings and conference is a joy for me. People helped me get started, and I want to help others. Besides a broad knowledge of many aspects of writing and publishing today, which lends credence to the subjects I've covered, I always make sure the participants have a good time, too.
I've also taught several times on Drama in the Church and writing worship sketches.
